Hawaiian Dinner Fundraiser
from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sat-
urday at the Cannon Beach
American Legion, 1216 S.
Hemlock St. Tickets, which
cost $12 per person, or two
tickets for $20, are being
sold at the door or can be
purchased from a Troop 642
member before the event.
On the menu are teriyaki
chicken or pulled pork, rice,
macaroni salad and tropical
fruit salad. Those who want
teriyaki chicken and pulled
pork can have both. In addi-
tion, orders “to go” will be
available.
The proceeds from the
dinner help send scouts to
camp.

Clatsop County libraries awarded $3,000
The Paci¿ c Power Foun-
dation has awarded $3,000 to
the 2016 Libraries Reading
Outreach in Clatsop County
program, which provides ser-
vices to all youth in Clatsop
County who are not served
by a public library.
Through
collaborative
work done by the three pub-
lic libraries and ¿ ve school
districts in Clatsop County,
Libraries ROCC helps sup-
port the work of schools and
teachers through three main
goals: getting a library card
into the hands of every child
ages 0-19; a county wide
summer reading program;
and courier services to help
children return library mate-
rials.
Businesses, civic groups,
and individuals are also in-
vited to become part of the
literacy team at the Little Li-
braries auction Feb. 11. For

Saturday Workshop
A Super Saturday
Workshop of hands-on ac-
tivities, open to all 4-H and
non -4-H youth throughout
Clatsop County, is being
offered from 9 a.m. to 3
p.m. Feb. 6 at the Clatsop
County Fairgrounds.
Youth ages 5-8 can have
fun doing various crafts,
games and art projects
to enjoy and take home.
Older youth, ages 9-19,
can attend various class-
es, from shotgun, archery,
baking, dog rally, robotics,
arts and crafts, science and
horse riding.
Participants
should
dress in layers and wear
warm and comfortable
shoes for cold, wet weath-
er and physical activities,
as there will be some ac-
tivities held in outside
venues.
In lieu of charging a fee
for the event, donations
of nonperishable food for
the Clatsop County Food
Bank are requested. Bring
lunch, or lunch is avail-
able on site for $5 with an
RSVP only.
Space is limited, and
RSVP for youth ages 5-8
