Clatsop County libraries awarded $3,000 The Paci¿ c Power Foun- dation has awarded $3,000 to the 2016 Libraries Reading Outreach in Clatsop County program, which provides ser- vices to all youth in Clatsop County who are not served by a public library. Through collaborative work done by the three pub- lic libraries and ¿ ve school districts in Clatsop County, Libraries ROCC helps sup- port the work of schools and teachers through three main goals: getting a library card into the hands of every child ages 0-19; a county wide summer reading program; and courier services to help children return library mate- rials. Businesses, civic groups, and individuals are also in- vited to become part of the literacy team at the Little Li- braries auction Feb. 11. For information, contact a local library. Youth ages 5-8 can have fun doing various crafts, games and art projects to enjoy and take home. Participants should dress in layers and wear warm and comfortable shoes for cold, wet weath- er and physical activities, as there will be some ac- tivities held in outside venues.
