The Molalla Indians
were living and dying by the
3-point shot Tuesday night at
the Brick House.
The Indians connected on
10 3-pointers to keep them-
selves in the game for much
of the night, but Molalla
couldn’t hit the 3-pointers
down the stretch, and Asto-
ria hung on for a 58-50 non-
league boys basketball win.
With head coach Kevin
*RLQ DW KRPH ZLWK WKH ÀX
assistants Paul Jarrett and Pat
O’Brien led the Fishermen to
their ninth victory of the sea-
son, equaling last year’s win
total.
Astoria opened with a 7-0
run against the outmatched
Indians. Molalla has just
one player on the roster over
6-foot-2 (6-3 sophomore
Chase Jazdinski), while the

halftime.
The Fishermen began the
third quarter with an 11-1
run, capped by Justin Fruiht’s
baseline drive for a three-
point play that gave Astoria a
42-25 lead.
But Molalla answered with
a 12-2 run of its own, closing
to within 44-37 early in the
fourth.
Jackson Arnsdorf hit
a clutch 3-pointer for the
Fishermen at the 3:22 mark,
while the Indians connect-
ed on three more 3-point
shots in the closing minutes
