More recently, evolu- tionary biologists and cognitive scientists have contributed new thinking to our ideas about hu- man nature. Has the essence of what it is to be human shifted over time? How might science and technology — such as recent rapid advances in bioengineering DQGRWKHU¿HOGV²FKDOOHQJHDQG reshape our understanding of what it means to be human? This is the focus of “Beyond Human? Science, Technology, and the Future of Human Na- ture,” a free conversation with Prakash Chenjeri at 3 p.m. Sat- urday, Jan. 9 at Astoria Public Library. This program is hosted by Astor Library Friends Associ- ation and sponsored by Oregon Humanities.
