McCollum, of Redmond, Oregon, for- merly of Seaside, Oregon, passed away on Nov. 23, 2015, at 85 in Bend, Oregon. Jack was born in Seaside, Oregon, on Jan. 18, 1930, to parents Bernard and Rose (Beauregard) McCollum. After graduating from Seaside High School, Jack joined the Army and served his country from 1950 to 1952 overseas in Korea. Jack earned the rank of corporal, and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his heroic achieve- ment near Kumsong, Korea. Jack was a proud member of the 160th Infantry Regiment. Following his discharge, Jack married Jacqueline Ban on March 18, 1951, in Reno, Nevada. Over the next 45 years Jack was very active in Seaside as a volunteer ¿ reman, and active in the Seaside Rotary and American Le- gion.
