CMH Foundation PROGRAM OVERVIEW The CMH Foundation dedicates its fundraising efforts for CMH to one project at a time. Since its inception in the mid-1990’s, the CMH Foundation has raised over $3 million for improvements at CMH and has funded 13 major projects. Our current project is the CMH/OHSU Knight Cancer Collaborative, which will expand on CMH’s existing chemotherapy treatment services while also bringing much-needed radiation therapy services to the North Coast. CMH has entered into a collaboration with the Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) Knight Cancer Institute for the development of a comprehensive radiation cancer treatment center. Currently, cancer patients who require radiation therapy must travel at least an hour outside of Astoria to receive treatment. Through this collaboration, a new facility will be constructed on the CMH campus, which will include chemotherapy and radiation therapy. We expect construction of this new facility to commence in 2016. CMH patients will have access to new treatment technologies and clinical trials available to patients of the Knight Cancer Institute. When more advanced cancer treatment is needed, CMH will coordinate a seamless transfer of care to Portland. The CMH Foundation is conducting a Capital Campaign for $3 million to help make this cancer center a reality. GIVING OPPORUNITIES Capital Campaign The CMH Foundation has raised $1.5 million towards its $3 million goal. The levels for the Capital Campaign are Community Gifts, up to $9,999; Blue Ribbon Gifts, $10,000-$24,999; Major Gifts, $25,000 and up. Community and Blue Ribbon Gifts will receive recognition on a donor display within the Cancer Center. Major Gifts will receive naming opportunities for spaces within the Center. Events The CMH Foundation’s main event is Denim & Diamonds, a Gala and Auction held annually. Watch for the announcement of 2016’s date! The Foundation’s Community Relations Committee supports this event. Giving Clubs There are five giving clubs at the CMH Foundation, each of which reaches out to a different segment of our community.
