The Assistance League of the Columbia Pacific (ALCP) received an $8,000 check from David and Danene Lethin, owners of the fishing vessel Aleutian Ballad, which was featured on Season 2 of the Discov- ery Channel’s “Deadliest Catch,” and now operates five months of the year in Ketchikan, Alaska, as a shore ex- cursion, The Bering Sea Crab Fisher- men’s Tour. “We were compelled to choose ALCP as our ‘charity of the season’ because of the work the women of Clatsop County do for the children of this great community,” Lethin said. “I grew up in Astoria, and love the small town feel and see firsthand how ALCP has impacted the kids of this area.
