Wreath Makers must be able to stand for an 8 hour shift and have the dexterity to be able to work in a quick and efficient manner with their hands.Workers also need to be able to develop the ability to determine the quality of the finished product. Workers take precut fir boughs and place them on a wire ring and continue this process until the wreath is completed satisfactory. A 3 day training period is provided, workers must be able to complete a specified number of wreaths, depending on the size, by the end of an 8 hour work day after the training period. The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies and equipment required to perform the job. 40 hrs a week, Monday - Friday, 8A - 4:30P, no overtime is scheduled. The guaranteed wage of $11.57 per hour is based on piece work, paid from $.75 to $1.55 per wreath. If the worker fails to complete enough wreaths to earn what equates to $11.57 per hour, that wage is paid anyway. If relocation is required by a worker who is hired, who does not reside in the area of employment, whether in the U.S. or abroad, travel expenses and subsistence will be paid to each worker based on the minimum amount of $11.86 per 24-hour period of travel and the maximum amount of $46.00 per day or as specified under 655.173 transportation (including meals, not to exceed $46.00 a day and, to the extent necessary, lodging, not to exceed $100.00 a night, receipts required) from their current abode to the place of employment, Astoria, OR, if the worker completes 50% of the employment period covered by the job order, which is consistent with 20CFR655.20(j)(1)(i). Payment of said expenses and subsistence will be paid within 3 days after the completion of the 50% of the contract period by check, paid to the worker. Return transportation and daily subsistence to the area from which the worker left from in order to take this job will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed from employment for any reason by the employer before the end of the period. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 6-week period of the total employment period. No resume required.
