3C THE DAILY ASTORIAN • FRIDAY, MAY 1, 2015 Dance Theatre of Harlem By NOEL THOMAS For The Daily Astorian Last weekend I had the pleasure of sitting in on a rehearsal for Saturday night’s concert at the Liberty Theater. The dancers were in constant motion, and the house was entirely dark — so dark I couldn’t see my sketch pad. Blindly, I’d make a few gestural marks, then when they’d turn up the lights, I’d frantically sketch my impressions. There was little to work with, but it was great fun. I call these memory sketches.
