GEARHART — The con-
ditions started out bad, then
got worse Monday afternoon
at Gearhart Golf Links, for the
Seaside Invitational girls golf
tournament.
It got bad enough that the
annual invitational was stopped
after nine holes, which sent the
seven teams home a little earlier
than expected.
Golfers battled rain, hail,
wind and soggy conditions on
the course before the decision
was made to end the tournament
at nine holes.
The rain-shortened tourna-
ment was won by Scappoose,

from Astoria, Banks, Molalla,
Seaside, Tillamook and Valley
Catholic.
