S he w a s born in G la s gow, M onta na , the only c hild of Edga r A . a nd
H elen E. P a rker, grew u p in P ortla nd, a nd gra du a ted from Jeffers on H igh
S c hool in 1958. In 1961, s he gra du a ted w ith a degree in D a nc e a nd
D ra m a from the U nivers ity of O regon, w here s he w on the dra m a
depa rtm ent’s O u ts ta nding S tu dent A c tres s A w a rd three c ons ec u tive yea rs .
Ja net L ee’s fa ther died in N orm a ndy in W orld W a r II; her m other w a s
killed in a n a u to a c c ident in 1962. S he w a s briefly m a rried to P rof.
H erbert W einberg, c u rrently of C olora do S prings , C O .
Ja net L ee retired from L os A ngeles to S ea s ide in 2001, believing tha t
the c lim a te w ou ld a llevia te the s ym ptom s of m u ltiple s c leros is , from
w hic h s he ha d s u ffered for dec a des . F ew loc a l people w ere a w a re of her
previou s his tory a nd m a ny a c c om plis hm ents .
U pon c om pleting c ollege, s he pla yed the s u pporting role of S a ndra in
the film “D a vid a nd L is a ” a nd a ls o a ppea red in the m ovie “A c t O ne.” In
the m id-1960s , s he tou red interna tiona lly w ith B ob H ope, enterta ining
the m ilita ry. S he perform ed in nu m erou s s ta ge produ c tions in N ew York,
B os ton a nd L os A ngeles , a nd on na tiona l tou rs w ith s evera l produ c tions .
H er fa vorite of thes e w a s “The O dd C ou ple” in w hic h s he pla yed the roles
of C ec ily a nd G w en w ith a c tors s u c h a s Tony R a nda ll, Ja c k K lu gm a n,

in Ita lia n a nd G erm a n.
