SANDY SCHOOL NOTES
SANDY, Jan. 25. The Sandy Peppy
club has been orangized in the upper
grades of the Sandy school. The pur

pils the proper way to conduct busi
ness meetings and to give them drill
and practice in addressing the public.
The following officers were elected:
President, George Dodd; vice-president,
Tomy Scales; secretary, Harold
Krebs; treasurer, Kenneth Scales.
A number of standing committees
were appointed. A meeting was held
today, the fifth and eighth grades giv
ing the program. Parents are cordially
invited to attend these meetings.
Although the Sandy grade pupils
are having a hard tussle with arith
metic, the folowing will show that
many are doing exceptionally well in
their monthly tests in other subjects:
Albert Hoffman and Milton Meinig
each received 100 in geography, Al
bert also received 100 in history- Ixi
cile Dodson, Tommy Kubitza, Ruth
Esson, Tommy Scales and Bernice
Duncan each got 100 in history. Bar
bara Scharnke, Kenneth Scales and
Tommy Kubitza each received 100 in
grammar, George Bodd 100 in spelling,
Wayne Duncan 100 in physiology and
Kenneth Proctor 100 in civil govern
ment. Mrs. Kennedy of Portland took
charge of the Firwood school last Mon

to her home at Rockwood about a week
ago, but was till feeling miserably.
This school has been without a teach
er four or five weeks. i
There are about twenty-two pupils
in the Dover school this year which is
said to be the largest number of pu
