Pete Hefty has disposed ot bis prop erty to J. F. Jamault, who expects to move here about December 1. The Social Service club met with Mrs. H. V. Stevens near Rothe Thurs- pox in Milwaukie. E. church is to have their silver tea at Miss Louistna Riser's next Thursday afternoon. All are invited to come. Mrs. Grant White of Canby was in Oswego Sunday. The Catholic church gave a bazaar on Thursday and Friday. They also bad programs on the same evening. All had a lively time and did well sell ing various articles for the benefit ot the church. Mrs. J. T. Bullock, formerly ot Os wego, underwent a serious operation at the Portland surgical hospital a week ago last Thursday. She is now able to receive visitors. The United Artisans gave a dance and social Saturday night All en joyed a good time. Mr. and Mrs. William Lourenz, ot Camas, Wash., have been visiting Mrs. Yourenz's mother, Mrs. Win. Worth ington, the past week. Mrs. Lind , in South Oswego, who has been sick, is now rapidly recov ering. Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Teter ot Salem, has been visiting relatives in Oswego the past week. J. T. Bullock, ot Monmouth, has been visiting his brother, George S. Bullock. Miss Dorothea Baker who has been quite ill. is Improving at the present Mrs. Wiedman, who has been sick for the past week, is slowly improv ing. Mrs. Wledman's children, Unlce and Marion, also have been sick. The Redmen lodge of Oswego, gave a dance and supper to all ot Uncle Sam's boys who had returned from France. A fine chicken supper was served and all enjoyed a nice time. The Sisters of Kasseah council No. : Helped to serve the supper. 5 s Suit Filed to Recover Wasres It is claimed that Sellers worked 154.2 days for a total ot $771; that $443.56 of this amount has been paid but that the company has refused to pay the balance of $327.45. Several visitors were, present and four new members admitted. The Ladles' Aid of Community church met with Mrs. Chas. Myers Wednesday ot last week. The aid Is preparing for a sale and bataar in the near future. Miss F. Kilgore and Miss E. Cook were Portland visitors Friday. Mrs. E. Matson ot Portland visited her sister. Mrs. H. Bauge and Mrs. O. Skoog Friday. Mrs. O. N. Harrison of Portland has moved into his property here which he purchased a year ago. Valena G. Benvic attended the meet ing ot Daughters Alliance of Veter ans in Portland Thursday evenipg Our postmaster, V. G. Benvie, made a business trip to Portland Satur day morning. This district did well in the third Red Cross drive as it subscribed more than during the drive one year ago. Miss F. Kilgore and her corps ot help ers are much pleased with the re sponse, despite jthe fact that many of the men contributed through the firms In Portland where they work. Mrs. H. W. Benvie ot Oak Crove, attended a meeting of club women in fortiana last aaturuay in the Gray Room of the Multnomah hotel, at which time the question of asking for special session ot the leg islature to ratify the suffrage amend ment was discussed and plans laid for same. The political economy department of the Social Service club met with Mrs. F. A. Smith Tuesday evening .The officers selected for the year are Valeria G. P. postoffice and Vigles & Gaupman's grocery repaired and painted. Mrs. S. P. Allyn went to Portland on business Saturday. Mrs. S. E. Blanchard of Portland, was calling on ft lends here Monday. The parent-teachers held its Nov ember meeting last Friday. Mr. H. C. Krum was present and spoke on the road bond issue. Mr. Krum has been one of the ardent workers oppos ing the bond. A reception was tendered Rev. and Mrs. R. C. Blackwell Wednesday even ing at the church. After a short pro gram, refreshments were served. Mrs. H. Meten Is quite 111 with pneu monia at her home here. Mrs. Margaret Wetzler of Hillsboro spent the week-end with her mother, Mrs. Jennie Bingham. Miss Bertha McCain o! Los Angeles, who has been visiting here for sev eral weeks, left tor her home. Mrs. H. R. Pixley and little daughter who will spend a month in California. Mrs. J. C. Savage of Yakima is vis iting her mother, Mrs. T. c. Elliott. Mrs. F. A. Smith. Mrs. Wm. Eder son and Mrs. S. Berglund were in Portland Tuesday in the interest of the Ladies' Aid of Community church. Mrs. M. F. Hobkirs was Portland caller Saturday afternoon. J. A. Paul and family left Tuesday for their future home In Canada. Since their coming to Oak Grove a year and a half ago they have made many friends here who regret their departure. Mr. Paul was secretary of the Community Improvement club and a live wire. Miss Hester Armstrong has gone to Estacada to assist in the bank for a few weeks. Hr L.
