The Clackamas public school closed last FVIday after a most successful nine months' session. The pupils frof the Intermediate department who were neither absent nor tardy during the year are: Orlo Hayward, Helen Holcomb, Harvy Welsensteln. and La vern Flaney. The teacher for next year are: D. U. Cochrane, principal, .re-elected; Miss Anna Dacbmann. In termediate grades, re-elected, and Miss Wlnfred Osburn. of Portland, primary grades. Two hundred regular are encamped at Clackamas, on the government grounds. Mrs. A. Mather returned last week from a pleasant visit to the exposition at San Francisco. Mis Plotner, a niece of Mrs. Lanen burg, was married last week. Friday evening some of the young folks chi varied the young couple, who were staying at the home of the bride's aunt. The name of the groom was not learned by the writer. Mr. Flanery, Sr., Is recovering from a severe attack of the grip. Miss Clara Landon departed for Portland Saturday where she expects to remain a few weeks until the sum mer session of study at Ilerkeley, Cali fornia, begins, which course she will take. Miss Landon will take up her duties as primary teacher In the Ard enwald school in the fall. It is re gretted that she could not be retained In the Clackamas school as she has taught a most successfu I term of school and has endeared herself to her pupils and all whom she came In contact with. R. G. Pierce has exchanged his place for Portland property. The new own ers, Mr. and Mrs. Vittum took posses sion of the place Monday and they ex pect to make extensive improvements forthwith on the place. Their son-in-law Dr. Bose, of Portland, contem plates putling up a sanitarium on the place in the near ruture, wnicn piace certainly Is an Weal location for such. Mr. Pierce and family moved to Kern Park, Portland, Monday. They have made many friends during their tw years' residence here and we are sor rv to lose them as neighbors, and wish tiietn much prosperity and happiness In their new home. A number of their friends called on 4hem Saturday night and spent the evening in pleasant con versation, after which they bade them farewell and tendered their best wishes. The many friends of Miss Edna Armstrong, formerly primary teacher here, are pleased to hear that she was eletced to a position in the Portland schools. Dave Douglass, road supervisor of Bull Run, is busy putting the road to Bull Run In traveling condition, which has been closed on account of the mak ing of a new grade. The Old Cooperative Supply Com pany, of Portland, has been heard from again, and aired In, the Circuit Court of Clackamas County, when Honry Perrett, of Sandy, was made defend ant In a suit brought against him by tho Western Farquhar Machinery com pany of Portland, on a note. Mr. Perrett Is to be commended on the stand he took In fighting the case to a finish. The Jury of twelve men broreht In a unanimous verdict for the 'lefer-Iant, Perrett.
