A Hallowe'en hop will, be one of the social functions to be given In Milwaukie In October. The affair will bo given under the auspices of Linden Circle at the city hall on Sat urday night. October 2S. Hoesley's orchestra of four plows will furnish the music for dancing. The hall Is to be made attractive with Hallo we'en decorations, and Hallowe'en refreshments will be served. A committee composed of Mijs. A. C. lXmilng, Mrs. J. 11. Hicks. Miss Heatrlce Webster, will have charge of the affair, and subcommittees are to be appointed to assist these ladles with the entertainment. Tickets will he 75 cents. All are Invited. Beautiful Residence Under Construc tion. During the past few months there have been several large real estate deals closed In Milwaukie, besides several smaller ones. Among thosy' that have been closed Is the sale of the Thomas Toates handsome new bungalow and two lots for $:tonrt. This residence was recently completed, and was purchased by James A. Johnson. It Is located on Washington street and the deal was made by the John son Realty Company. Mr. Toates will erect another home for himself, which will be modern throughout,. This building will he erected on his two lots adjoining that which hit Bold td Mr. Johnson. Mr. Toates Is a design er, contractor and builder, and ho Is sparing no pains to make his home one of the most up-to-date In the city. The house will have six rooms and will cost about $2000. One of the deals that was closed recently, and which is one of the largest that has been made in Clack amas County this summer was thv sale of Mrs. Jane Hnynes' property consisting of 54 acres situated on the Foster Road and Kellogg street, to Mrs. Dunning, of New York, the price being Mrs. Dunning has already let the contract for a hand some bungalow which she will oc cupy, the cost of the. bungalow being about $.")0iM). The foundation has al ready been completed and the con struction work will be pushed rapidly along. Albert Wendell, foreman of the S. P. depot builders, whose present resi dence Is nt Scllwood, has purchased properly in Milwaukie, and is build ing a fine bungalow of two stories on the property.
