LARGE FRESHMAN CLASS.
Probable Enrollment of .600 at the Uni

CMVERSITV OF OKEGO.V. Eugene.
Julv 31. The freshman class entering the
Fniversitv of Oregon this Fall will be by
far the largest in its history. Every Indi
cation points to a freshman registration
of 25U. and a total enrollment of nearly
SO) students, not Including the depart
ments of Law mid Medicine. Last year
one-fourth of all the high school gradu
ates of Oregon entered the I'nlverslty of
Oregon, and there is every reason to be
lieve that an even greater percentage will
entr this Fall, though the- number of
graduates Is nearly a huif larger than last
vesr. Another .wiueo that will help swell
the number very materially Is the large
umbfr of F.astern people coming Into
the state. The Registrar's oillce receive
nanv letters each week asking If credits

next year's enrollment will be a record
