The gymnasium was packed, thero were
at least 200 peoplo present to watch the
cIoho of the contest and seo gymnasium
work. At 8 :15 a gymnasium class came
running on the floor, taking the appara:
ts to one side, and falling in lor double
class drill. After the class drill there
were some special features in tumbling,
horizontal and parallel bar work, by
Pete Traglio, W. H. Beach, R. Freytag
and A. M. Grilley, all of wt.icit were
groatly appreciated. It showed that the
boys are making a big advancements in
the physical line.

nesdsy evening by Mayor Latourette

city officers was read, as appears shove,

A warrant for l-VW In psyment of the
city's appropriation for the Oreg n City
and Molalla road was ordered drawn in
favor of the county court.
Petitions were read asking for the lo
cation of an are light at head of Fifth
street In Falls View and one at Founh
and Main streets. The petitions togeth
er with the question of the continuance
of the F.lghth and Main street arc ligl t
was referred to street committee.
The annual rcorts of the recordir,
treasurer, and water commission wire
presented. The recorder's and water
coinmlsalon reports were ordered pub
llnhed, and the treasurer's referred to
finance committee with twwer to have
book ex period.

the city was referred to street committee
with power to act.
The usual grist of claim against the
