Thomas G. Young, formerly United States marshal of the Oregon district, but now a policeman at Sell wood, was in Oregon City Wednesday, settling up the taxes on his Clackamas county projierty. James Walton, of Ely, one ot the pio neer residents of Clackamas county, whose illness was mentioned some time since in the Entkrpkisk has so far re gained his health that on Saturday last Dr. Paine, his physician, ceased his visits, pronouncing Mr. Walton out of danger with good chances for continued health. J. A. Chase returned last Thursday from an extended stay with bis family in California. He reports plenty of rain in that country as well as here, and came back to look after bis extensive property interests. In fact, the people of that state have as much cause to com plain over the heavy rain-fall, and con sequent fruit prospects as have the resi dents of Webfoot.
