Clackamas, May 15. About 1 o'clock
Friday, May II, the people began to
come into Clackamas from all directions
and wend their way to the brick build

some stirring pieces. Addreases were
made by some ol the able republican
candidates, and all pronounced it a
splendid meeting.
It is reported that the democrats had a
" glorious o!d si-eaktng" Monday after
noon; but it was kept so quiet that but
few knew it.
Tho populists had a political sneaking
in their hall Monday night and the re
port Is that they I ad to place guards at
the door to keep the boys Irom fastening
them in as w.is done at their other speak

ltith by some of their most able speakers.
It seems aa if Clackamas is the center of
the political light and it is thought that
she will decide the result in the county
in June.
