LIVE STOCK MARKET REPORT Cattle Market is Active in Beef Steers Cows Move Slow Receipts were 300 head: Yester day's cattle market was a very' active affair, especially in beef steers. Lows and hoifers were inclined to move slowly although prices generally were steady. Monday's total receipts was one of the lightest Monday runs on record. There were only a couple of loads of strictly good fat catle in the entire run, the bulk being made up of grade, ordinary to medium steers and cows which did not take well with buyers. One load of slough grass cattle brought $9.95, which was the day's top, outside of a few bunches at $9.50. Ordinary grades brought from $8.25 to $8.60, with common stuff sell ing down tp $7.00. Best beef cows brought from $8.00 to $8.50, with New System Painless Dentists First-Class ..Painless Denlstry ,at Reasonable Prices All Work Guaranteed PAINLESS EXTRACTION EXAMINATION FREE LADY ASSISTANT We Speak German ROOMS 9-10-11-12 ANDRESEN BLDG. The positively-driven spiral brush in the OHIO not only removes all the dirt and dust that you can see, but the almost invis ible destructive fine dirt as well. fairly good ones at $7.50 and $7.75. Medium grade dairy cows brought around $7.00; common and ordinary from $5.00 to $6.50. Demand for beef and bologna bulls continues very good at strong prices, the best sell ing at $7.50 and $7.75. Fairly good heavy bulls brought around $7.00. Ordinary and fair light veal calves brought $9.00. The steer supply yes terday did not near meet the demand and we are quoting best steers 25 cents higher than a week ago. We quote prime steers $9,550 to $10.00. Hog receipts were 1300 head. Packers again cut hog prices 15 to 25 cents. There was only a light run here for the day and demand was also light. All packers acted bearishly, with practically no speculative de mand. Small buyers bought sparingly. The pig market was in for one of the heaviest cuts on record, dropping off one cent a hundredweight for the day. The top of the market was $15.25. The bulk of the sales ranged from $15.00 to $15.60. Pigs sold mostly at $12.00, with a few bunches to outside feders and butchers bringing from $13.00 to $14.00. Eastern markets are still on the sled and seem to be going faster than ever. Provisions were all higher. Sheep receipts were 1500 head. While receipts were light they were comparatively of fairly good volume. Demand was also fairly good and prices were mostly steady with last week. Spring lambs sold mostly at $13.75, while several lots of fine heavy shorn yearlings brought $11.50, with a load-of yearling bucks at $11. 25, carrying a 50 cent dock.
