Mr. An derson was brought to Oregon City immediately, where Dr. Strickland dressed the wound, and on Wednesday morning was taken to the" North Pa cilio Satitarium, Portland, where an operation was performed on the arm by Dr. Coffee, of Portland. Word was received here Thursday morning of the death of Mr. Anderson from blood poison. Deceased was 49 years old and leaves a widow and two chil dren. John Hanny, who graduated from the Agricultural College at Corvallis, returned from that institution on Fri day afternoon, and on Monday morr Ing left for Fort Leavensworth, Kan., where he goes to take the required examination for West Point for sec examination for second lieutenancy at West Point, having received the appointment while at the agricultural college. He was accompanied to Fort Leavenworth by Lincoln T. Chambers" of Corvallis, who also goes to take the examination, having received an ap pointment.
