The loeeing boys were repairing
the chute at Howard's mill last week.
Mr. Seltzer was calling on his sister
one day last week.

business in town last week.
Sile Adkins and Fisher were putting
in some logs for Claud Howard last
week.
A lama nnmber of our young folks
attended the basket social at Molalla
last Friday night and all reported a
good time.
There was a road meeting held at
the Grange Hall last Friday, whioh
was largely attended. Jadge G. B.
Dimick was present. The meeting
was held for the purpose of levying a
tax on the district It was voted
that they levy a 6-miIl tax, which
carried by a large majority.

luncheon was served by the hostess,
Mrs. Penman, assisted by Mrs. Ecoles.

Mm T.ehuns farollne Thomas died
at her home, four m'iea east of Canby,
last Saturday morning. December 1,
1906. Mrs. Thomas died cf heart fail
ure. Her maiden name was l.ebana
Caroline Buinu. She was born in Pike
County, Illinois, February 1, 1856; age.
50 years and 10 months, sne was mar
ried to John L. Thomas In Calhoun
County, Illinois, November 4, 1376.
The family came to Oregon in 1884,
where they have resided on their farm
near Canby ever since. Seven chil
dren were born to Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas, as follows: Mrs. L. Q. Rlggs,
Nancy E. Thomas, Chas. A. Thomas,
Mary M. Thomas, Jos-. E. Thomas, Le
roy R. Thomas, Ethel E. Thomas. All
survive. Mrs. Thomas leaves -to mourn
her loss a husband and seven chil
dren and an aged mother, two broth
ers, J. H. and L. P. Burns, and three
grandchildren, besides a host of
friends. She was a kind and faithful
wife, a loving mother, and a true
friend. None knew her but to love
her. The bereaved family have the
sympathy of everyone.

The twin babies of Mr. and Mrs.
John Goetz died last week and were
buried in the Zimmerman cemetery.

with her grandma, Mrs. D. Zimmer
man. Our school seems to have more
trouble than is necessary, as our
directors have been called to the
school house several times during the
past few daya What we need here is

and give some of the parents a good
