Mrs. Carl Caufield passed through Oregon City last Saturday evening on her. way to San Francisco to join her husband. H. Leighton Kelly left Monday for Roseburg where he will assume his duties as fish eclturist at the govern ment fish hatchery on the Rogue River. Mr. and Mrs. William Andresen and family have gone to Yaqnina Bay. Mr. Andresen will supervise the erec tion of a new cottage there, and his wife and childlren will send the en tire summer at the Bay. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. A. Harding and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde G. Huntley left Tuesday fmorning for Newport on Yaqnina Bay to attend the state con vention of the Pharmaceutical Asso ciation, and will return home Friday. Rauds have been awarded a ooutract by the United States Land Office for the survey of a portion of the south half of the Oolville Indian reservation preliminary to its opening undor the act or the last session or congress, The amount of the contract is $10,735, Mrs. Imogen Harding Brodie, of this oity, who has conducted a vocal studio in Portland during the Winter, has just been elected contralto soloist ot Temple Beth-Israol, qt Portland. The quartette for the ensuing year will be Mrs. Rose modi Bauer, so prano ; Mrs. Imogen Haridng Brodie, contralto ; Arhur Alexander, tenor ; Dom J. Zan, baritone. Miss Maysie Foster, who was last week elected to a position-' as grade teacher in the public schools or fort- land, has accepted the position. Miss Foster has been a teacher in the schools of this city for the past three years, and her retirement will create a vacancy, which, together with the vacancy caused by the ncn-acceptance of Miss Editli Gallolgy, will be filled by the board of directors at its next meeting. Decker for a decree ot divorce, through her at torney George O. Brownell. They were married in Multnomah County, December 24, 1902, and the plaintiff alleges that about July 8, 1D03 her husband began 'to show an irritable aud jealous disposition, and in Sep tember, near Butteville, while they were picking hops, lie struck her iu the face without cause or provocat ion, and repoated this insult in Tacorua, Wash., last May.
