tion. Earl MoAdam, who has been em
ployed at Busch's furniture store,
has gone to ;oin his parents, Prof, and
Mrs. McAdam, in Pendleton, and will
remain for an indefinite time.
Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Cowing, daugh
ter and grandson, of Alexandria,
Minn., are visiting his brother,
Judge T. F. Cowing, and will re
main .here until after the opening of
the Lewis and Clark Fair. They have
been spending the winter in Pasedena,
Cal.
John Hess,' who has been foreman of
the Cascade Laundry since the place
was opened, left Friday night with
his family for Woodburn, where he
has taken a year's contract with the
Woodburn steam laundry, to assume
charge of their operations there.
Bert 0. Ross came in Saturday tn
answer a charge of carrying a con
cealed weapon, preferred by Charles
Birtchet of Marquam. As Ross had
already pai 1 a flue of $10 in the Mol
alla justice court, he was released,
pending an investigation of the mat
ter by Deputy District Attorney
