semiannual election of officers
at tho Y. W. C. A. in Portland

hursday afternoon of last week
a Guild was organized by ladies
of the Episcopal church. The
following officers were elected:
Mrs. Mary E.Mayger, president;
Mrs. Fox, vice president: Mrs.
Bessie Post, secretary; Mrs. W.
C. Walker, treasurer. The
Guild will meet at the home of
one of its members the second
and fourth Thursday of each
month. The next meeting will
be held Thursday afternoon. Jan
uary 2G, at the home of Mrs. W.
C. Walker, 633 Smith avenue.
At last 1 hursday 'a meeting for
organization members of the
Guild were pleasantly entertain
ed by Mrs. Fox, assisted by her
daughter, Mrs. J. G. Ruhland.

teen junior boys and girls. Mrs.
J.C. Scott told of tho work of
tho local W.C. T. U. in an inter
eating and entertaining manner.

Her husband, H. S. Hewitt, and
three children, Charles, Mary
and Mrs. Nellie Dorman.are left
to mourn her loss.
