N, Braasch, O 1 James Dickson of North St. ohns was taken to the Good Samaritan hospital, Tuesday evening, where he successfully underwent an operation tho fol owing morning. He is getting along as well as could be ex pected. o Zed Dorris, step son of Dr. S. A. Mulkey, left Monday to re sume his studies in landscape gardening at Corvallis college. e left his studies to enter Undo Sam's service, being a member of the 4th Engineers. Dunn, of Front street. who fell 140 feet thru a chimney at the Pacific Coast Steel com pany's plant, died at the Good Samaritan hospital early Tues day morning. Dunn, who has recently been discharged from the front firing line, where ho !tho navy, was employed as a la borer at tho new plant of the steel company, near Willbridge, He was at work at the top of the tall concrete smokestack which the company is building, and fell thru the scaffolding at the top.
