THE ST. JOHNS REVIEW A. W. Mnrkle, Iidltor Publlohod Evory Friday At 1 17 Philadelphia street, Portland. Or. Subscription prloe $1.00 per year. For Sale Newest Creations "THE LUXO" , pos nil i In Portland, Oregon, ns uinil matter of the second class under the Act of Con gress of March 3, 1879. The attention of G. M. Standi fer and associates is respect fully directed to the Lower Peninsula as a superb site for the million dollar steel ship building plant that they will establish within the next few days. Vancouver is fondly an ticipating that the plant will be located there, but it has no odk'o on the peninsula as a location, viewed by any stand point. The peninsula, however. id seriously handicapped in the race to secure other ship plants, because it docs not have the band of boosters promotinp its virtues as does the city of Vancouver. The Standifer Com pany has secured the contract for ten hitf steel ships that will cost approximately $10,000,000. town Mn lilltttmtitl iMnti t unit should allow a newspaper pub- I PPfimSII 3 SfiRIINlV Cfl. This applies to all kinds of busi ness KWieral stores, dry goodB, groceries, furnituro dealers, nianuiaciurinK estauliHlimcnls, automobile dealers, mechanics, professional men and in fact all classes of business men. This does not mean that you should have a whole or a half or even a quarter pao ad. in every issue of the paper, hilt your namu and business should be mentioned if you do not use more than a two line space. A Htraimer picking up a news paper should be "able to tell just what business is represented in a town by looking at the busi ness mentioned in the paper. This is the best possible town advertiser. The man who does not advertise his business does an injustice to himself and his city. He is the man who ex pects the newspaper to do the most free advertising for his town. The man who insists on shariiiK the business that comes to town but refuses to advertise his business is not a valuable addition to any town. The life of any town depends upon the live, wideawake and liberal ad vertising business men.
