EASTER CLOTHES Spring models are now on display at our Men's Toggery. The only difference be- Regarding the Bon- i ville 99-Ycar System Tlio romodicH for the hiuhcont of liviiitr hh miKKwted by (loo. Woortnill in "Tito Oregon Sunday j Journal" of March Kith, startles i us into a iminful uonxciouHnoHS of our lonir years of fruitless Btruiurle to enact and enforce laws thai would maintain a high er scale of wages, trust regula tion, control ot middle men and more available acreage, we are sick at Heart when wo think of the golden time waste waiting for the ell'ect of ballots and laws that have been mado a mockery to us. The enforce ment of such laws might relievo the situation a little but would fall far short of putting control in the hands of the majority of the people, and anything short of control by the majority spells unrest tothopeoplo. The country is controlled by the power that should control it, it is controlled by the actual wealth of the coun try, it is controlled by that wealth to protect that wealth which is nerfoctly natural, hut the wealth is in too fow hands. If the Amoricnn peoplo wish to control America they must own Amorica. Wo ought to have the first right to control what wo own and we havo only a limited right in the control of what wo don't own, Tho moro porfect remedy, the only rostful remedy, is actuall ownership of all industries, all facilities and all resources by all tho pooplo. This necessitates co-operation laws that will hold each member to his duty, requir ing his co-operation unit forbid ding his withdawal. Such a sys tem means a higher standard of intelligence among the peoplo. The way to touch n child is to got it interested, and us long us you can hold iU attention the child is learning. The way to teach mon to do their part in so cial, municipal, and industrial nlliura is to get them interested. The way to get mon interested is to got their money nnd to keop them intorostod keep thoir money but give them the earnings of it. Money kopt from a man and no returns given him for it, will, in time bo forsakon by him. but money kopt earning, and tho owner huving a voice in tho con trol, nnd constantly yielding re turns to him, it will not bo for saken by him. By realizing that this world and its resources is a nottlothat to timidly touch it wo got stung, but to boldly and firmly grasp it, to keep and control it, it w yield us enormous returns. A .the wealth in existence has been i generated from the earth's natu I ral resources, by simply holding I them for long periods of time, wiiuoui developing mem men have accumulated enormous for tunes, if we hold and develop these resources our returns w bo far greator. We must invest i to retain, wo can only retain by co-operation that is Iudlssolvao so long as it is profitable. The actual ownership of industry by all the people, controlled in the industrial operation by a major ity vote of the owners is the in dustrial workers contolling their own wages. The produce of in lustry controlled by the major Ity ot the owners of thoindustr a. -i . . r . . . moans controlled iy the const! nun's as woll as tho producers, The Honvillo IK) Year System opens opportunity to rich am poor alike, places control in tho hands of the majority, locks that control and tho majority to gether so they can not bo scpn rated. It is tho standard of nb solute right. When ouo becomes thoroughly acquainted with it all perplexities vanish. Munici pal, social and industrial nues lions, whether true worth, folly or deception appear for what thoy really aro under tho rav; of the t))-Year System. i he working neon o rs hou h take deop interest in supportimr a system that opens to them the opportunity to invest in tho best paying industries nnd protects mom in their investment. I they can only invest ono dollar it 1 il li uiey can p ace l int ( o ar in stock in any industry thoy choose i nut is under tho yy year system 1 .-A. Ji.. J II ami goi us inn earnings, com paieo wun mo earnings ot any other man's dollar that is in tho samo industry. Their invest ment has far better protection and n lar better chance of earn ing than if nlaced in a bank. and when wo get a number of dollars scattered among a number of industries if one should nrovo unpronuuiio and have to be dis solved they would not all prove failures and at tho worst tho good ones would more than take cure of tho unprofitable ones. The Kciual Hights stores at Jer soy nnd Leavitt Streets. St. Johns, nnd Lombard and West aima are our first co-operation under the U9 Year System. It is tho people's store. Everybody is invited to como and own and take possession of that store. Thoro aro 4000 moro shares to bo sold. Your own dollar will buy one of them. $10.00 will buy ten 1 of them. Como buy and control your own store. Tho opportun ity is yours, tho principle ought to bo yours. If wo take enro of riirht nrinc in es riirht nrinci pies will tnko cure of nil tho nco pie. If wo havo not tho princi ples to support right principles we must naturally sutler from wrong principles, while wo sink to tho lovel of the man wo deal with fow of us caro to sink to below the standard of tho man wo deal with. If wo sign n con tract with a mnn wo know al ways keeps his wo aro loath to break ours with such n man. So if wo would havo others res pect us wo must respect others. Wo aro known for what we are and not what wo may imagine wo are making people think we are. it wo really desire justice to all wo will support pnnci pies of univortal justice. Wo will take caro of tho child and expect mo man to tako caro of himself. Tho time to tnko care of principles vested in the hqual Kights Co., is to support me rjqua it c its atores now. When these stores nnd thoir principles of co-operation have grown thoy will tnko caro of you lour stock certi cates aro waiting for you at tho Northern Hill Equal Rights Store. Please como and get them and help us to open a we 11 stocked store at Jersey and Lenvitt streets. St Johns, Oregon, the first of April. While your cooperative spirit and support in this system is annre anted it would be out of plnco to thank a man for doincr his own work. As this work be- ongs to all who will tako inter est in it our hearty cooneration with you for right is tho most eitectual gratitude wo can offer. or and by tho Eoual Rifrhts 'eopie. uy A. i'orter.
