Madame Leona, the palmist and fortune teller who was located at the New St. Johns hotel recently has moved on. The Madame made many friends here by her pleasant, modest behavior and while we have no faith in that kind of work, it furnishes a great deal of amuse ment to people who are thus in clined. Judge S. H. Greene is on the retired list at his residence on West Fessenden because of a very sore throat, He lias been ill for more than a week, but at last accounts was recovering. Misses Jennie and Lalah have returned from the farm near Castle Rock, Wash., and will remain until after the holidays at least. Cards are out announcing the approaching marriage of A. Unger, our popular cigar manufacturer, and Miss Minnie Hoffman of New York City. The felicitations of bis many friends will be generously extended to Brother Unger and best wishes for a happy prosperous voyage on the matrimonial sea. The happy event is to occur in February and we will be glad to keep the tinpan brigade informed as to dates in lime for a vigorous campaign. Whether it was out of revenge for what was published about him in last week's Review or whether it was just out of the goodness of his generous heart we know not, but we do know that T. P. Walker, old residents of St. Johns, but of late making their home in San Fran cisco, were in the city this week ooking after their property inter ests here. Mr. Walker was re cently transferred from San Fran cisco to Portland by the Southern acific people where he is employed now by that company. Mrs. Gordon Ogden, nee Hart- man, formerly one of bt. Johns bright girls, now a resident of For est Grove, was a visitor in St. ohns looking after their property titeres's in Northern Hill this week. Mrs. Ogden says their property is not for sale and that they are coming back here to live sometime. She would like to rent their property for a time, however and particulars may be learned at this office. We wanted to give the "devil" key to the office, so that he could get in ahead of us and fire up. We went to unite s repair shop and in little while he had made us a key that was better than the old one, and while we were rubbering about we found that Billle was repairing phonographs, bicycles, umbrellas, awnmowers lu fact, anything you could think of that needed repair ing, and he is an expert at the biz, too. This delightful aggregation of colored musicians and singers were given n hearty receptiou at Bick tier's hall last Saturday night.
