Without doubt Ihe entertainment
provided by Prof. V. C. Alderson.
principal of this city's schools, was
a most notable one, and one that
will cause last Monday evening to
he long remembered by many of tin

formancc of no set program, but
there was no hitch on the proeram
and no hesitation upon the part of
the star actors to come to the front.

C. M. McKlnnie, formerly a resi
dent of St. Johns, and who moved
his family to Silverton last spring,
committed suicide by hanging him
self in his barn at the latter place
Tuesday morning last about seven
o'clock.
Mr. McKiunle arose Wednesday
morning in his usual good health

cows. Not answering the call to
