fete I CROOK COINTT JOURNAL HELP TO DEVELOP OREGON RESOURCES Blue Moraiitaiini Oil & Ga Compaimy INCORPORATED UNDER THE LAWS OF OREGON Officer L. 0. Roberts, President Neil Bertrandias Vice-President Lionel C. Mackay, Secretary-Treasurer Director Field Manager Neil Bertrandis The Blue Mountain Oil & Gas Co., is a corporation organized under the laws of the State of Oregon its main of fice being at Portland, Oregon. Holdings. The Company owns oil leases on ap proximately 200,000 acres of land in Grant and Crook Counties, State of Oregon, the Western border of which lies about 40 miles east of Prineville; the main portion is between the North and South forks of the Crooked river. It is bisected by a number of wagon and automobile roads, the principal one being the Willamette Valley and Cascade Mountain Military Road, that crosses the State in and Easterly and Westerly .direction. Several post of fices are located on the tract, among which are Post, Paulina and Su'plee. Chico Sea. Geologists know that this territory was once the bed of an ancient sea which extended from Canada to Mex ico and was confined between the Rocky Mountains and a range nearer the Pacific Coast. The California fields lie in this old sea bed. The cli mate was tropical and the profusion of fossils from marine, vegetable and an imal life bear out this assertion. The presence of these old fossil beds grahamite proving oil seepage, the typ ical geological formations and struc tures present in all oil fields and neces sary for accumulation of oil, togetner with other equally infallable indica tions, combined with experience of other fields, prove that there should be a commercial quantity of high grade oil. - - - - An experienced oil man devoted ov er a year at his own expense, to a most thorough and careful examination of this locality, making it his place of res idence during that period. His report corroborated by other equally reliable and convincing evidence, resulted in the formation of The Blue Mountain Oil & Gas Company. During this survey many perfect samples of fossil deposits of marine, flora and fauna were obtained and are now on exhibition in the company's of fice, suite 724 Morgan Bldg. The pub lic is urged to view them as they are both interesting and instructive. Directorate. The Board of Directors of the Blue Mountain Oil & Gas Co., is composed of well known Portland business men; their reputation for integrity and busi ness ability is unquestioned. The re liability of the Company is thus estab lished through their association with its directors. You are assured that your money will be handled economic ally and in your interests; when divi dends accrue you will get them. The directors ask no remuneration for their services in that capaciey, other than dividends on the stock which they hold. They are sincere in their desire to prosecute a successful drilling cam paign and to develop the oil resources of Oregon. . ' to Plans. " '"" , The Blue Mountain Oil & Gas Co., intends to drill its holdings in this tract as speedily as is consistent with good business. These operations will be close at hand and open to personal in spection. , People are daily investing money in oil propositions from one to three thou sand miles distant; property they have never seen and in all probability never will have an opportunity to investigate personally; humanity is prev'erse in thinking that the greatest treasures of the Earth are found only in distant places, and generally, by strangers. Thousands of dollars are sent out of Oregon each year in oil speculation and for the purchase of fuel oil and gasoline. With every necessary indi cation of the presence of high grade oil in commercial quantities proven, is it not wiser to make your investments in a bona fide home company that is pre paring to develop the oil resources of Oregon than to search for the Golden Fleece of foreign territory? The de-' mand for oil is increasing by leaps and bounds; fear is expressed that the year 1921 will see another shortage of gaso line and that this shortage will be an annual and lengthened occurence. Hamilton, All of Portland, Oregon. supply is inadequate to meet this grow ing demand and nearly every month shows a decrease of reserve stock. There is no problem in the disposal of oil; buyers are always waiting and anxious to take it from the producer. Opportunity Many people have made and are making fortunes in oil, frequently thru a single small investment. The desire to do likewise is universal but knowl edge that a reasonable chance to strike oil exists is essential before investing. The directors of the Blue Mountain Oil & Gas Co., tell you that they believe i the chances for getting oil on these holdings are excellent or they would not be connected with the Company. They promise that when dividends are ready for distribution they will be re ceived by every unit holder in propor tion to the number of units held. Only a sufficient number of ' units will be sold to finance the develop ment of these holdings; if oil is found ' the sale of units will cease and all who , have' been dilatory or hesitant as to early investment will have lost their opportunity to better themselves finan cially and to assist in the development of Oregon oil fields. . .,: . . Chance , An element of chance exists in every business venture SURE THING for tunes to be made on small investment DO NOT EXIST. The Directors are firmly convinced that the chances ,of success in this venture greatly exceed those of failure. Units Undivided five-acre units will be sold as rapidly as legitimate methods will permit; therefore it will be neces sary to act promptly. There will be no favoritism in this sale and subscrip tions will be filled in the order in which they are received. We do not desire you to put in your money with out most careful thought and consid eration, but do urge you to keep con stantly in your minds what the positive indications of oil on this, land means to those financially interested as well as to the State of Oregon.
