AN ASSOCIATION
Commenting on the proposed
Bulletin says:
"The suggestion from Prineville
that the leading towns ot Central
Oregon join in the employment of
Chautauqua entertainment next year
instead of contracting with the com
panies in the field this summer, is
very good, and it is to be hoped that
lt will be carried out. Presumably
arrangements for "talent" will be
made with one of the companies, but
if representatives of the four largest
Central Oregon towns are acting as
one committee in making a contract
for the four, they ought to get bet
ter terms than if each one tried to
deal separately: At any rate there j
would never occur again any such
situation as exists this summer when
over 18,000 is being paid by Bend,
Madras, Redmond and Prineville
for their Chautauquas.
If a real organization is perfected
there should be other economies as
well. With such buildings available
, as the gymnasiums in Bend and Red-
Blond, and the Commercial club hall
in Prineville. the expense ot bring
ing in and selling up tents should be
eliminated. Other economies should
suggest themselves and other bene
fits he found that will never occur
under present arrangements.

JUXE WEDDIXG IN CHINA
It seems that America is not the
only country where June weddings
are the vogue. M. R. Elliott Satur
day received an invitation to the
wedding of Herbert Spencer Tye to
Miss Lym, which was to take place
on the second day ot June at the res-
idence of the groom. 15 Pottinger
! Street, Hong Kong, China, top floor.
Evidently in China the parents of
the groom take it upon themselves to
! issue the invitations. The one re
i ceived by Mr. Elliott is in the form
used in America, but is on one side
! in English and on the other side in
; Chinese. The invitation to the wed
! ding dinner, given at the Kung Wo
Restaurant, was likewise printed in
, both English and Chinese
! N. A. Tye, the father ot the groom,
at one time was in the merchantile
business in Prineville, where his two
children were born. The daughter
was married not long ago. He is
now in the merchantile business In
Hong Kong under the firm name of
N. A. Tye & Co.
ed a couple of weeks ago when an I
automobile ran Into the rear
wheels of the buggy in which he was
riding. He was thrown out ot the
rig. over the dashboard, the horse
kicked him In the face, breaking his
lH'se. and one of the front wheels
of the machine passed over his body.

The feeling of cold or warmth It
caused by sensations In the skin and
has little sleniftVnnce as to the body
temperature. On a hot day one may
feel very hot when the body tempera
ture Is quite normal. Again at the
heelnnlttg of fever one may feel cold
a In the case of a chill. This chilly
feeling Is caused by the contrast be
tween the higher temperature of the
Internal organs and still normal tem
perature of the skin.
