Allen, who has been employed by the Ochooo District, left Tuesday for Portland. J. Balcom, who has ben employ ed at the Ochoco dam, left Tuesday for Portland. H. C. Nelson has recovered from a recent attack of pneumonia and has gone on a vacation. Smith Bros, have gone to Grizzly, where they will make arrangements for their sawmill there. Virgil Messinger returned Monday from Camp Lewis. He has been mus tered out of the service. Several car loads of young people from Prineville attended the dance at Powell butte Friday night. Oscar Prose has received his dis charge from the army and has re turned home from Camp Lewis. Mr. and Mrs. Charles King return ed Saturday from Portland. Mr. King is rapidly recovering from his recent injury. Mrs. R. C. Thompson arrived from Portland and will remain here with her husband, who has been here for several months. Students.! Karl Hebering, an attorney from Portland, Is in the city in connection with the recent suit brought against the Ochoco Project. Charles Kelsey, who has Just re cently been mustered out of the ser vice, was In Prineville Sunday visit ing with friends. George Dickson Is in Portland at tending a meeting of the board of di rectors of the Pacific International Livestock Exposition. Judge and Mrs. T. It's worth know ing, is it not? Neighbors of Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Rimpler gave them a surprise party at their home on Dry Creek last Thursday night. About twenty-five were present and enjoyed dancing un til a late hour. Supper was served at midnight. Mr. and Mrs. Rimpler will leave soon for Walla Walla. w. s. MR. I. H. GOVE ENTERTAINS Mrs. I. H. Gove entertained the Presbyterian Ladies Aid at her home last Thursday afternoon. A very pleasant afternoon was spent In sew ing after which the hostess served re freshments. W. I. A musical program was followed by a farce entitled, "Don't Borrow a Ba by." Mr. and Mrs. Harold Maker ac companied Mrs. Rosenberg's soIob with guitar and banjo.
