Mrs. Frank Johnson, Dessel John
son, Mrs. M. R. Biggs and Mrs.
Schmeer were in Redmond yester
day. The ceiling at the Baptist church
has Just recently been completed.
It is made of metal and is very at
tractive. G. M. Cornett has purchased a
band of sheep and will move to one
of his ranches at Powell Butte. He
will be accompanied by his daughter
Zoe, and his siter, Mrs. Julia Stan-
clift.
Captain J. H. Rosenberg, who
nnderwent a minor operation at
New Orleans, La., yesterday, is im
proving rapidly according to a tele
gram received by Mrs. Rosenberg
last night.
Miss Hazel Sullivan sold more
bonds in this city than any other
member of the Women's Committee
for the Third Liberty Loan. Mrs.
' Wm. Wilson, of Powell Butte, has
the record for the outside districts.
Miss Ethel Kidder and George
Conway Burnison will be married at
the home of the bride's parents in
Portland, Sunday, April 14. Miss
Kidder is a graduate of Crook
County High and is a sister of Mrs.
Earl McLaughlin. She represented
Crook County High In the oratorical
contest at Whitman College several
years ago.
Rev. W. L. Van Nuys is in Port
land this week attending a meeting
of the Presbytery. Dr. J. Wilbur

wound near his eye, Saturday, when
a cable slipped and hit him.
Seth Dixon left for Roseburg, Sat
urday, where he will meet Mrs.
Dixon who is returning from Cali
fornia.

Dr. Horace P. Belknap Jr., of
Portland, was in Prineville, for a
few days this week. Dr. Belknap
has received a call to report at
Washington, D. C, about the first
of May but will return to Prineville
again before going.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sloan, of
Miliican. were in Priaeville, Satur
day. Mr. and Mrs. Sloan purchased
the Miliican ranch. They reported
the theft of about sixteen head of
sheep from their ranch a few days
before they were here. .
