The :torm which has hold the
northwest in its grasp during the
past several weeks is but an argu
ment in favor of preparedness which
should appeal especially to the
stockmen just now.
Regardless of the effort of every
one to prevent loss, mere or less
kardshipand considerable actual loss
f stock is sure to result.
Such winters as the present one
have occured before, will come
sgain aid the stockmen who use
the best business methods, will
tarrv sufficient supply of feed to
last through such times.
Men become careless, and take
too many chances on such oc
curences, which always result sooner
or later in loss.

ley is going to have charge of this
work during the remainder of the
year, and pupils may draw books
Friday afternoon, and keep them
for two weeks. By our method we
can absolutely trace any book at
any time and this will save any
possibility of books becoming lost
and our not knowing who is re

this may not conflict with the
teachers' meeting which we have
heretofore been holding on Friday
afternoon, we shall dismiss the
upper grades at four o'clock on
Friday and hold our teachers'
