Now you state thnt the county
had paid out something over Forty
thousand dollars and that the rab
bits were not all dead yet. This is
true, but t a sutlieiont number of
them are dead from the effects of
the law, that we have heard no
complaint of thorn having eaten up
all the crops. Up to 1S1"-, or lo
for, the rabbits were hunted, it
was a common thing to hear a home
steader remark that rsbbits de
stroyed all my garden, my alfalfa
and eighty acres of grain, etc. Last
year not a single complaint was
heard. The best gardens, the heaviest
yield of grain and alfalfa was raised
last year that Harney Valley ever
produced before. Mr. Weittenhillor
alone raised one fifth as much gtain
last year as the whole of Harney
Valley produced the year before.
Think what this amounts to for Har
ney Valley's future.

Are Your Hens Laying Eggs or are they Non-Producing
For the Lack of Proper Winter Foods and Attention?
HOW TO GET MORE EGGS
IrTwinter a regular system of feeding 'should be adopted and
steadily adhered to throughout. Give your hems a comfortable
shelter with plenty of light; keep dry, clean and well ventilated,
but avoid draughts of cold air. Feed regularly a variety of
good clean foot!. Table scraps thickened with bran.boilcd
together, are also very good in winter, to which add a teaspoon
full of DR. HESS' POULTRY PAN-A-CE-A as directed.
Give in a mash of wheat, bran and shorts which should con
stitute the morning feed. In winter give warm. Small grain
should be thrown among chaff, which will compel the fowls to
exercise. Keep fowls well supplied with fresh water and
plenty of grit, bone or oyster shell. Keep your hens free
from lice by adding DR. HESS' INSTANT LOUSE KILL
ER in the dust bath every other week.
