Now you state thnt the county had paid out something over Forty thousand dollars and that the rab bits were not all dead yet. This is true, but t a sutlieiont number of them are dead from the effects of the law, that we have heard no complaint of thorn having eaten up all the crops. Up to 1S1"-, or lo for, the rabbits were hunted, it was a common thing to hear a home steader remark that rsbbits de stroyed all my garden, my alfalfa and eighty acres of grain, etc. Last year not a single complaint was heard. The best gardens, the heaviest yield of grain and alfalfa was raised last year that Harney Valley ever produced before. Mr. Weittenhillor alone raised one fifth as much gtain last year as the whole of Harney Valley produced the year before. Think what this amounts to for Har ney Valley's future.
