Forwarding Storage and Commission Buyers of Hides, Pelts and Furs JACK SUMMERS, Manager China Pheasants For Crook County There has been a total of 85 China pheasants liberated in Crook County between the Tom Sharp ranch on Crooked River and Paulina recently. These birds are furnished free by the ftate, and placed in localities where it is thought they will thrive and become abundant in a short time. At present there is a penalty fix ed by the state at $50 for anyone convicted of the trime of killing one of these birds. The county has plac ed a standing reward of $25 for such conviction also. Aside from the legal status of the matter, it is hoped that the people will assist in protecting these birds until they get a start here.
