Mrs. Wenandy a
Suicide at Bend
Mrs. J. H. Wenandy, wife of
"Jack" Wenandy the Bend automo
bile and liveryman, committed sui
cide at the Wenandy homt, in Kend
this morning some time after mid
night. Mrs. Wenandy was lust seen alive
about midnight. She had been
talking to Mr. Wenandy who has
been in Portland for the past week
or ten days and it is said that some
thing that roncerned the conversa
tion had over the telephone had
something to do with the net.
Coroner Poindexter and County
Physician Rosenberg left for Bend
this forenoon whore an inquest will
be held this afternoon. Examina
tion by Bend physicians revealed the
fact that Mrs. Wennndv had taken
enough strychnine to kill a dozen
people.
The Wenandys have been married
less than a year. Mrs. Wenandy
was formerly a school teacher at
Crescent, Oregon; was about twenty
five years of age, and highly re
spected in the community. She
had many friends in Bend who are
greatly shocked by the tragic death.
It is believed that domestic troubles
were entirely responsible for her
action.
