tiary. Hugh Lister and Orrin Mills
passed through Prineville Sugday
with a hunch of cows and calves
that they bought in the Black Butte
country. " They will feed them at
Paulina.

Wilson of Barnes, passed through
l'rineville the last of the week load
ed with wool for the railroad. They
claim that it was the last of the
1911 clip left in the county.

Bolknap, brothers of Dr. II. 1
Belknap, camo up from the John
Day to see their sister and mother,
who are visiting in Prineville. The
brothers will leave for John Day in
the morninu. The Doctor to
l'rairie Citv. where ho lives and
Albert to Austin, where he is rail
road agent.
Mrs. Henry Carlin of Bear
Creek, was a l'rineville visitor last
Saturday. She was accompanied
by Miss Clara Null of Glengary,
Montana, who has been visiting
with Mrs. Carlin for the past
month. Miss Null will visit her
sister, Mrs. C. L. Johnson of
Bisters, before returning to her
home in Montana.
(i. K. Lyon has opened a skating
rink in the Maling bulding, over
the Creamery and O. K. Meat Mar
ket.
The Bend High School will line
up against the Crook County High
School on the gridiron here next
Saturday.
Tin Sunday School convention

Mrs. T. M. Baldwin left Monday
for a visit to Portland and Stayton.
She will spend some time with her
mother at the latter place.
Superintendent Ford says that
the county library school books are
now ready for distribution. Clerks
are requested to oall and got them
and save expressage.
Luvia, the litto daughter of
Ralph Btecse of Combs Flat, who
died at the (iood Samaritan Hos
pital at Portland, was buried from
the Presbyterian Church this after
noon.
Mrs. E. L. Bradford of Madras,
was buried in Odd Fellows' ceme
tery Wednesday, beside the grave
of her husband.

Chaa. I. Barnes and Mica Eliza
beth Smith of Redmond were
married at the home of the bride's
parents in Redmond Sunday last
by Rev. Mr. Lillie. Mr Barnes is
the pharmacist at Winnek'e drug
store. The young couple are keep-
ng house on the north side.

was in town Thursday.
Charley Adams was down
from the Flat for a week, renew
ing old acquaintances.
Charley Stroud, foreman for
J. N. Williamson, was a visitor
in Prineville this week.
George McVey, of the Upper
Ochoco, wandered to the city for
a few days' visit last week.
II. J. Lister, a prominent stock
man of Paulina, was a guest in
Prineville the first of the week.
Art Wurzwoiler, or l'aulina, in
his flight to Portland, "camped"
over nignt in the village Sunday
night.
Miss Eftie Adams, a prominent
young lady of Culver, was visit
ine with friends in this city for
a few day this week.
The timber haB been ordered for
the wagon bridge across the Ochoco
on East E street. Work will cotr.
mence as soon as it arrives.
The contract has been let for the
sidewalk from First to Third on K
street. This walk will be put down
in time to accommodate the school
children in the new building.
Mr. Delore presented a petition
for a sidewalk on the north aide.
As it lacked a majority of sign-

fected,' the council returned it to
the circulator.
The matter of collecting the
water rent was taken up and the
attention of the marshel was direct
ed to same. He was also instruct
ed to collect for lumber sold by the
city.
The council thought a $5 license
for pool and billiard tables was too
cheap so an ordiance will be drawn
up to increase the amount.
Wade Huston, acting city mar
shall reported 9 arrests. Recorder
lireece reported 16 arrests for Oc
tober. The fines and license collect
ed during the month totaled 1192.
Report approved and ordered filed.
The city marshal was instructed
to collect the money due for grad
ing East F Street.
