notice aforesaid, said board met and held

brought before said board were duly con
sidered. That when the roll h finally
linished and equalised, it stands as a
Judgment and i not subject to review or
rcviitu except in the manner proTided
by law. The statute further provide
that, "Whenever the tax collector dis
covers tuat any property has been iwwel
more than once for the same year, he shall
collect only the tax justly due thereon,
and shall make return to the county court
ofthe balance as double assessment, and
shall bs pmperly credited thfreter; and
whenever, at any stage in the collection
ol tares, the officer hanng charge of the
rolls shall din-over errors or omissions of
any kind therein he may properly correct
the same to conform to the facts in what
ever :uanner may be necessary to make
such assessment, tax, or other proceeding
whatsoever regular and valid, such correc
tion to be made in red ink, or otherwise
dfetingnisbed, and to be signed with the
initials ot the officer making the same and
the date of such correction.
The court further states that it is always
ready to afford any relief that it may give
under the law or statutes.

Warning to Saloon Men.
An ordinance passed by the
council of the city of Prinevllle makes
severe penalties for serving drinks to
minors and habitual druukark.
They must not be allowed to loiter
on the premises. The penalty tor
selling liquors to minors is a fine ot
from 15 to $100, or by imprisonment
from two days to thirty, or by both
fine and imprisonment.
In the case ot habitual drunkards
the fine is from $50 to $100, and in
default of payment of such flue shall
be Imprisoned In city Jail one day
for each J- of such Sue and costs,
not to exceed 30 days.
