I.aft week during (ha thunder storm Mike Brown, while assisting with some tattle at the Meyer nd Brown ranch en Crooked rirer, had a taste of lightening. Mr. Brown was on the outside corral and wishing to get inside commenced to crawl through a crack in tht fsnce where a barbed wire bad been strung across, and while un der the wira a flush of lightening came, following the wire until il struck Mr. Brown's shoulder, pass ing through his body and entering the ground at his feet. Where the lightening first'struck Mr. Brown on the shoulder it left a large sprawling red mark with pus tules raited all around it. For some time he was partially paralys ed but soon recovered from the ef fects of the stroke. It was a narrow escape and he is to be congratulated with getting off as lucky as he did.
