Of the Keizertimes
Keizer Public Works department is
installing new water lines in residen-
tial neighborhoods. For the next two
months, residents of Joan Dr., Chehalis
Dr., Newberg Dr. and Orchard St. may
experience commuting delays as a result
of the construction. The city has con-
tracted with Trench Line Excavation for
some of the work, while city workers han-
dle the line installation.
According to the Keizer's Water
Master Plan, the city's average daily
water demand is expected to rise to 5.3
million gallons per day by 2023, from it's
current level of 3.5 million per day.
The city currently derives all its water
from groundwater sources including
wells that tap into the Wilamette Silts
and the Troutdale Aquifer. Due to this,
recent modifications to the federal Safe
Drinking Water Act will have little to no
impact on Keizer.

How would you get
others to volunteer
in their community?
I love to make connections to
people and have always found
that others who like to help are
great people to connect with. I
also want to be a model for my
children that you can always
jump in to help others out. I’ve
been taking them since they were
super young with me to different
places to help out, starting us
at the Rickman Community
Garden, now the Pegg and Jerry
Moore community garden.

volunteering do

It makes me feel good that I’m
able to join in and lend a hand. I
love meeting and connecting with
new people and getting to know
their stories. I’ve found that it is a
very small world and most have
a connection to my person or my
professional world.
How would you
get others to
volunteer in their
community?
If you want to get to know
people, help fill a need, and
get connected more in your
community, then sign up to help
out.
