The home run brigade continued in
the top of the third as Whitfi eld crushed a
two-run homer to extend the Campesinos
lead to 7-0.
With a 10-0 lead, Ybarra and Drew
Bayard each hit two-run homers in the
top of the ninth.
Sunday, July 25: Volcanoes 9
Senators 2
In his fourth appearance with the team,
Jared Bell pitched eight innings and gave
up only four hits and two runs while strik-
ing out eight as the Volcanoes got the
series win by defeating the Senators 9-2.
Kevin Jordan Jr. had three RBIs and
Bryan Ruby and Sam Jones each knocked
in two to lead the Volcanoes off ense.
A solo homer from Tanner Cantwell
put the Senators up 1-0 in the bottom of
the fi rst. But in the bottom of the third,

a three-run blast by Jordan Jr. put the
Volcanoes on top 3-1 in the top of the
third.
The Volcanoes then got an unearned
run in the top of the fourth when Jones
reached on an error. After an RBI-double
by Senators outfi elder Jordan Myrow in
the fi fth inning, David Kyriacou launched
a solo home run over the wall in the top of
the seventh to put the Volcanoes back up
by three runs.
RBI-hits by Jones and Ruby in the
eighth inning extended the Salem-Keizer
lead to 8-2.
Caleb Johnson hit a solo homer in the
top of the ninth to complete the scoring
for the Volcanoes.
