PAGE A14, KEIZERTIMES, MAY 21, 2021 Heritage Center funding campaign crosses $50K The Keizer Heritage Foundation has reached the halfway point of its goal to raise $100,000 for the maintenance of the Keizer Cultural Center, built in 1916 as the Keizer School. To date, the Heritage 100 has been received 50 $1,000 donations and is seek- ing 50 more donors. Upon its move and restoration, the Keizer Heritage Foundation established a sinking fund for repairs and maintenance. In 2019, maintenance needs on the 105-year-old building wiped out the sink- ing fund. The board of the foundation estab- lished the Heritage 100 in 2019 to raise money from the community to replenish the sinking fund. The campaign to solicit $1,000 each from 100 people, families and businesses was slowed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Board Vice President Lore Christopher said the Keizer Heritage BUSINESS WE’LL BEAT ANY PRICE ON THE 13 MAJOR † BRANDS WE SELL AND Foundation is re-energizing the campaign to fi nish the fundraising to complete the projects needed to assure the building’s future. Replaceing windows, HVAC systems as well as fresh interior paint and carpeting are top priorities. Donations to the Heritage 100 are tax deductible. Donors can choose to make a one-time donation of $1,000; they can also make two- or four-payments over a Services 12-month period. All donors will recognized with a name plate on permanent plaque inside the Keizer Cultural Center.
