16 or older? Roll up those sleeves
By ERIC A. HOWALD
Of the Keizertimes
All Oregonians age 16 and older
are now eligible to receive COVID-19
vaccines.
Vaccinations are the strongest
weapon in the arsenal as the country and
the world work to bring an end to the
COVID-19 pandemic and protect those
who are most vulnerable to serious ill-
ness in the community.
Many large pharmacy systems are
beginning to receive COVID-19 vaccines
from the federal government.
Safeway, Bi-Mart, Costco, Fred Meyer,
Rite Aid, Walgreens, and Walmart all
have dedicated COVID-19 websites
where vaccination appointments can be
made.
Salem sites with regular vaccination
appointments include:
Salem Health: Accepting appoint-
ments as supplies allow at the Oregon

Oregon is averaging about 35,000
doses per day. Pfi zer and Moderna are
the two most common vaccinations in
Oregon. A Johnson & Johnson vaccine is
not currently being administered while
authorities investigate possible side
eff ects. Medical experts advise those
planning to get a vaccine to take which-
ever one is available fi rst.
Gov. Kate Brown is encouraging all
Oregon residents to get vaccinated and
then talk with friends and relatives about
the reasons behind their decision.
More than 1.6 million Oregonians
have received at least one dose of the
vaccine.
