Volunteers serving on the committee must be a reg- istered voter in Keizer. (One vacancy) Keizer Points of Interest Committee - Identify, authen- ticate and memorialize sites of interest located in the Keizer area. Sites to be identifi ed may be of the historical, geographi- cal, botanical, or unusual. No registration required. Penny White, will be held on Tuesday afternoons from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. from Jan. 7 - Feb. 25. This term will continue with layout and design, in- cluding alignment, hierarchy, contrast, repetition, proximity, balance, color and space. These techniques will en- hance writing and give stu- dents freedom to move away from only writing on straight lines and working only in black and white. $60 for eight classes. • Variety in Watercolor taught by Steve Kleier, will be held on Wednesday mornings from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. from January 7 - 29. This class will start with the classic techniques in wa- tercolor, alla prima, dry brush, special effects and drawing. Trees can be picked up or dropped off Jan. 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., On Jan 5 times are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $10 for both pick-up and drop off service. A drop off location will be established at the Keizer branch of US Bank, 5110 River Road The Keizer Art Association presents this month’s Enid Joy Mount Gallery Show Fins, Feathers & Fur. The re- ception will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4 in the Keizer Cultural Cen- ter, 980 Chemawa Road N.E. Meet the judge, the artists and guests. Refreshments are served and the artists will be available to talk about their techniques. Classes planned for January are: • Guest instructors for the Keizer Art Association’s colored pencil class are Pen- ny White and Don Griffi th. Sign up for class at least one week ahead of time. Monday mornings 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. Jan. 6 to Feb. 24. These classes teach color theory, layering, strokes, use of paper and tools, dry pencil, water color pencil and more. The classes show the student how much fun it is to learn new techniques and stretch their expertise. All levels of pencil pushers are welcome. Beginners will have fun and be successful.
