NOVEMBER 1, 2019, KEIZERTIMES, PAGE A3 Keizer Fire continues streak of stellar yearly audits Keizer Fire District (KFD) has again received the highest review score of an “unmodifi ed opinion” which is the highest positive auditor opinion they can offer, regarding the accuracy of the accounting and fi duciary responsibil- ity, which KFD achieves annually. KFD received its annu- al audit fi ndings at the regular monthly board of directors meeting through their audi- tors, Aldrich CPAs LLC. Oregon budget law re- quires governmental agencies to review all fi nancial controls annually for special districts, such as fi re districts. The KFD board of directors went over the auditor fi ndings in detail at their monthly board meeting with the auditors and fi nancial committee for Keizer Fire. “Not only has the responsibility been met, KFD increased its cash position regarding assets and liabilities and related public employee doc- umentation recording,” said auditor Josh Bailey. “The fi re district’s fi nancial status and cash position are a direct result of good management decisions and good strong relationship with your community.” Keizer Fire Board Presi- dent, Chet Patterson, who is also a certifi ed public accoun- tant (CPA), commented; “The importance of good fi nancial records and recording of pub- lic funding year after year is vital in the public trust and refl ects directly on a good organization such as ours … this is re- fl ective of staff adhering to policy and doing things right.” Daylight saving time will take effect Sunday, Nov. 3, at 2 a.m., which is the time to set the clocks back an hour. In addition to setting the clocks back an hour it is also a good idea to check the smoke alarm. Celtics serve Don’t forget to change clocks Nov. 3 dinner at St. Ed’s Over the course of three days, more than 150 McNary High culinary students in fi ve of Chef Wendy Bennett’s ca- reer and technical education classes prepared and cooked all the ingredients for the month- ly Keizer Community Dinner at St. Edward Catholic Church on Wednesday, Oct. 23. Approximately 120 pounds of meatloaf, 50 pounds of po- tatoes and nine gallons of gra- vy were used to feed around 400 guests in a homestyle meal that was created from scratch. Green beans were donated by Sodexo. The Keizer Community Dinner is open to all people in the community on the fourth Wednesday of every month.
