Fire Chief Kyle McMann said it’s just one step in the fi re district’s effort to improve communi- cation with taxpayers. “We are grateful for the support of our community and want to say thank you,” said Chief McMann. “This also gives us an op- portunity to show our tax- payers how we spend their money to save lives and property.” Open houses are sched- uled for Tuesday, Sept. 17 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at two stations in the north and south side of the district. Sta- tion 6 in Clearlake is at 8005 Wheatland Rd. N in Keizer. Station 1 in Four Corners is at 300 Cordon Rd. NE in Salem. The fi re district is plan- ning station tours and safety demonstrations. Refreshments will also be available. Simonka Place took delivery of a donated playhouse to add to their growing backyard Tuesday, Sept. 10. The house was donated by Bob Shackelford who won it in a Remodeling by Classic Homes raffl e.
