The banquet tables were colorfully decorated by Deb- bie Ego’s Events Planned Per- fectly and a buffet dinner was prepared by K’s Catering and The Hitching’ Post. Outgoing club president A.J. Nash introduced the em- cee of the evening, Jeff Davis, the 2019-20 president-elect. Though McDonald was in- stalled as president she was unable to attend. Along with the new presi- dent and president-elect, Ala- na Lang Neads was installed as secretary and Craig Williams was installed as the club’s fi rst new treasurer in over 20 years. Board members installed were Ryan Brush, Ron Freeman, Ron Hudkins, Erik Jespers- en, Jane Lowry and Jeff Reyn- olds. H. Marc Adams remains as Keizer Rotary Foundation chair. The Rotary Club of Keiz- er, established in 1965, has do- nated more than $1 million into the community. Applications are now being accepted for the Emergency Food and Shelter Program Funds (EFSP). Federal funds have been made available through the Department of Homeland Secu- rity (DHS)/Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program. The amount available for Marion and Polk Coun- ties is $196,011 which is an increase of $24,283 from the prior phase. The Local Board will be accepting applications immediately. The dead- line to submit an application is July 10. Application materials and organization el- igibility requirements are available online at www.unitedwaymwv.org. Click on the link for EFSP. Agencies providing emergency food or shelter services may apply for funds. The Local Board, made up of representatives of nonprofi t agencies, community members and local gov- ernment, will make the allocations of funds to local agencies no later than July 19. Agencies applying for funding may be asked to make brief presentations to the Local Board. Funds will be awarded based on the application meeting the requirements of the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program, the ability of the applicant agency to meet the re- porting requirements of the program and the need in the community. Schools offer free lunches The Salem-Keizer Public Schools have part- nered with local agencies to provide free meals for children and teens aged 1 to 18 throughout the community during the summer. Children can receive free breakfast and lunch regardless of income at 11 school sites as well as the KROC center and FAC- ES Family Daycare and Literacy and Resource Center. Price is admission is $15 per day or $27 for a weekend for adults; for se- niors and kids 6 to 12 cost is $12/day or $21 for a weekend. Kids 5 and younger are free. The 11th Canterbury Re- naissance Festival will be held near Silverton for four days starting July 20 and will feature a dragon lair adventure this year. The festival grounds, located off state Highway 213 east of Silverton, will be fi lled with a village as it may have appeared during the days of Queen Eliz- abeth I (late 16th century), in- teractive stage, and participants playing characters from the era. Attendees are encoruaged to dress in period costume.
